Nora Lola Belle Peterson, 81, of Blackduck, MN died on the day that represented her, "Mother's Day", Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society, Blackduck.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Cease Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Cease Funeral Home in Blackduck with Pastor Dwight Warden officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.
Nora was born on January 6, 1937 in Long Prairie, MN, the daughter of Guy and Hazel (Coller) Bucher. She attended the Lyons country school and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1953. She then attended business school and worked at the Markum Hotel in Fargo, ND. She married John S. Peterson on January 14, 1961 in Blackduck, MN. They made their home and farmed in Hornet Township. She was the clerk/treasurer for Hornet Township for over 25 years. She worked as a seamstress for Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck for many years, retiring in 2009. She was a past member of the Hornet Helping Hands Club and the American Legion Post #372 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Nora is survived by 2 sons, Donald (Beth) Peterson of Blackduck, MN and Jeffery (Joan) Peterson of Kelliher, MN; daughter, Annie Peterson of Blackduck; 4 grandchildren, Thomas Peterson of Kelliher, Michael Peterson of Bemidji, MN, Rachel (Jeramie) Hughes of Hines, MN and Beth (Paul) Tjepkes of Kelliher; a great-grandson, Dylan Tjepkes of Kelliher; 5 sisters, Murlie Swan of Blackduck, Joyce Bucher of Blackduck, Alvina Mitberg of Little Falls, MN, Dolly Shastid of Blackduck and Ella McCrae of Blackduck; 3 brothers, Norman (Luisa) Bucher of Chula Vista, CA, Clifford Bucher of Tenstrike, MN and Roger Bucher of Tenstrike; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 1994; and her parents, Guy and Hazel Bucher.
